Roy Finlay Success
On Friday, 7th December 2018 the Roy Finlay competition was held in Londonderry Pavillion, Newtownards
This annual competition has been running for over 25 years and is held in the Autumn / Winter of each year in memory of Roy Finlay, one of Northern Ireland’s best-known wildlife photographers.
The competition itself follows the FIAP rules for wildlife, allowing minor adjustments but not digital manipulation of photographs. Entries must be of wildlife in its natural habitat, ie the faithful representation of the subject at the taking of the shot must be maintained.
This year we had two members who had an image ‘Commended’ by the judge:
Lynn Hughes with ‘Fish Supper’ and Aine Carbery with ‘Standing Out’
