Paws and Portraits

Focus Photography Club’s latest outdoor photoshoot took place at the scenic Oxford Island in Lurgan, where members gathered for a charming dog portrait session. With the serene backdrop of Lough Neagh and its lush nature trails, the location provided an ideal setting for capturing each canine’s personality and charm. The shoot drew plenty of attention from passersby, who were delighted to see a mix of playful dogs and dedicated photographers at work.

Four dogs took center stage during the session—Flynn, Barney, Ted, and Maggie. Each dog brought their unique flair to the lens. Our members took turns capturing both posed portraits and candid moments that highlighted the dogs’ natural behavior and bond with their owners.

Members of the club praised the shoot for its relaxed atmosphere and the opportunity to practice animal photography in a dynamic, natural environment. Beyond the technical aspects, the event also celebrated the connection between people and their pets—something the club hopes to explore further in future projects. The resulting photographs reflect not just skill behind the camera, but genuine affection and storytelling through imagery.

Many thanks to Robert, Robin, Michael and Peter for bringing along such adorable pets.
