Club Night – Bugs and Fungi

Our latest club night saw us welcoming a very knowledgeable guest speaker in the form of Louise Borderly. Louise’s expertise lies in Natural History and she wowed us with her knowledge of everything from fungi and insects to Puffins and gulls.

Despite some mixed communication which meant Louise, through no fault of her own, arrived late, and our venue being very strict with the finishing time this week meant that her presentation was slightly rushed. However it was still a very interesting, and at time witty, presentation. Of particular interest was Louise’s stories about the Saltee Islands, situated approximately 3 miles off the coast of Kilmore Quay Co.Wexford. This has planted a seed of interest with some members who are now discussing a possible weekend away later in the year.

All in all a very interesting and enjoyable presentation from Louise and we hope to have her back in the future.
